Sheridan Brown

Bio

Sheridan Brown returns to the NDSCS Wildcats as a Sophomore from Bismarck, ND.  

(High School) While at Shiloh Christian HS, Brown was a three time All-Region player in Class B Region 5, All-Tournament team member is the 2023 ND Class B State Volleyball Tournament, the Impact Volleyball Player in 2021, and has two ND Class B State Volleyball Tournament individual records for most digs in a match (60) and most digs in a tournament (112).

(Personal) Brown is the daughter of Kevin and Angela Brown.  She intends to study Engineering at NDSCS.  She is involved in CAB and Phi Theta Kappa here at NDSCS.  Brown was on the President's Honor Roll, she was her high school's Valedictorian, and was on the President's List from 2020-2024.

Brown has been on a series of mission trips to Ensenada Mexico  and the Dominican Republic where she had the chance to coach young athletes in under-resourced communities.  Brown states, "Through the experiences, I discovered something surprising: teachinig the game deepened my understanding of it in ways I never imagined.  I was forced to slow down, break down the basics, and relearn the "why" behind each movement.  That clarity translated directly into my own performance - I became more intentional.  When you coach, you have to be able to communicate with your players.  Being in a foreign country, we did not speak the same language, so I had to use my body language to figure out new ways to communicate with the kids.  That taught me the importance of communication on the court and how to be intentional with my body language.  Lastly, the mission trips reminded me of why I fell in love with volleyball in the first place.  Watching the pure joy on kids' faces as they nailed their first serve or celebrated a rally - it rekindled my passion.  I returned home with a fresh perspective and purpose."
