Wildcats Region 13 Champions, Coach Passa Coach of the Year

Coach Passa and the Wildcats traveled to Williston last night to face off against Williston State College in the regional championship. The Cats beat the Tetons 25-18 in the first set taking an early 1-0 lead but Williston would not roll over, winning the second set against the Wildcats 22-25 evening things at 1-1. Despite their best efforts the Tetons would come up short in the final 2 sets with the scores being 25-13 in each, giving the Wildcats the win 3-1 and the title of Region 13 Champions! Congratulations also goes out to Coach Passa on winning coach of the year!

Stats for the match against Williston are as followed:

Payton Foster 42 assists, 7 digs. Abby Johnson 3 aces, 8 digs. Riane Mohagen 2 aces 12 digs 4 assists. Samantha Kohl 2 assists 5 digs 2 aces 18 kills 6 blocks.  Katie Gostovich 13 kills 3 blocks 7 digs. Katelyn Stalboerger 7 kills and 3 blocks   Marley wheeler 3 kills 4 blocks 5 digs. Laura Green 12 digs 2 aces.

Coach Passa stated that the team was incredibly excited to win the Region Title on the road. The team worked incredibly hard all season because they wanted their number on the banner in the gym. The team struggled slightly in the second set but was able to come together and dominate the rest of the match. The team and Coach Passa are thrilled to be able to host the District Playoffs vs. a familiar foe in Central Community College out of Columbus NE Friday and Saturday. The teams goal all year has been to have an opportunity to make the National Tournament and that time has finally arrived, If the Cats win 2 of the 3 potential matches this weekend they will be off to the National Tournament. Coach Passa is thrilled and incredibly proud of everyone on the team. Please come out this weekend to support the Wildcats Volleyball Team!
