Women's Basketball Season Recap
The NDSCS Wildcats Women's Basketball team wrapped up their season on March 8th. The Wildcats had another successful season under second year head coach Bryant Friskop. The team finished with an overall record of 23-6 which included a 9-3 mark in the Mon-Dak Conference. The team averaged 73.8 points per game while shooting 41.3% from the field. Defensively, NDSCS held their opponents to just 61 points per game this year on 35.4% shooting from the field. NDSCS outrebounded teams by an average of 8.3 per game (45.8 NDSCS - 37.5 opponents) as well as they forced 16.4 turnovers per game.
The Wildcats were an impressive 12-1 at home this year playing at Ed Werre Arena in the Blikre Activities Center. NDSCS defeated Lake Region by a score of 91-79 to advance to the Region XIII Championship where they would fall to Williston State by a score of 59-76.
NDSCS will graduate six Sophomores who each made major contributions during their time at NDSCS: Lolo Carlow, Peyton Gette, Ezrah Baker, Ava Boyes, Hailey Markel, and Maggie Westling.
Westling broke both the all time scoring and rebounding records at NDSCS with 1135 points and 728 rebounds during her two years. Gette became sixth all time in career assists for the Wildcats with 174 while Carlow finished seventh all time in 3 point field goals made with 89.
Maggie Westling was named the Mon-Dak Conference MVP, Lolo Carlow was named 1st Team All-Conference, Ava Boyes was named 2nd Team All-Conference, and Peyton Gette was named to the Sportsmanship Team for NDSCS this year.
NDSCS will look to continue their success in the 2026-27 season.
