#2 Wildcats Shutout Lake Region in Two Games
Wildcats Win Streak Hits 13
The Wildcats Softball team hosted Lake Region on Saturday for Sophomore Day. The 'Cats had stellar pitching in both games leading the shutouts in both games.
Grace Folkema pitched the first game where she went all five innings giving up three hits, one walk, zero runs, and 12 strikeouts. Folkema moves to 10-3 on the year. The Wildcats scored three runs in the third and opened it up with seven runs in the fourth. Ava Howard went 2-2 with two runs scored, three RBIs, and a home run (her second on the year). Rayelle Cooley went 1-3 with two runs scored, two RBIs, and a home run (her sixth). Caitlyn Dannenfelzer also had a home run (her fourth) with two RBIs and two runs scored. The Wildcats had 10 runs on seven hits with one error for a 10-0 win.
Emma Johnson got the start in game two where she would go four innings giving up two hits, one walk, and striking out five for her ninth win on the year. Johnson would also go 2-2 at the plate with two runs scored, one RBI, and one walk. Kendyl Moss went 2-3 with one run scored and two RBIs. The Wildcats scored in every inning and were able to put together nine runs on nine hits with zero errors.
The Wildcats next play Wednesday at home against Bismarck State with game times starting at Noon and 2 PM at the Gayle Miller Softball Complex in Wahpeton.
