NDSCS Football Named MCAC Conference Champions
After a long, anticipated wait, a decision regarding the 2021 MCAC Football Conference Champion was announced. The decision came after a proposal by NDSCS, which was then voted on by the MCAC General Assembly at their Spring meeting in March.
After a long, anticipated wait, a decision regarding the 2021 MCAC Football Conference Champion was announced. The decision came after a proposal by NDSCS, which was then voted on by the MCAC General Assembly at their Spring meeting in March.
The NDSCS Wildcats football team was named the 2021 MCAC Conference Champion, with a perfect 7-0 record in conference. This is the first Wildcat MCAC Conference Championship since joining the league in 2014, and the first NDSCS Football conference title in 23 years, the last was in 1999.
The 2021 NDSCS Wildcats football team finished with a record of 9-1, the second-best record in program history, and a #4 final ranking in D3 NJCAA football. At one point, the 2021 Wildcats were 9-0 with a #2 NJCAA ranking until they lost a 3-point game in the semi-finals of the Region tournament. The Wildcats were led by: MCAC Coach of the Year, Head Coach Eric Issendorf; 4 NJCAA (3-1st Team, 1-2nd Team) All-Americans; 15 MCAC (6- 1st Team, 5- 2nd Team, and 3-Honorable Mention) All-Conference players; 12 MCAC All-Academic student-athletes (led MCAC football); and 5 MCAC Elite Team student-athletes (led MCAC football).
