NDSCS Announces Hall of Fame Class of 2026
Abrian Stovall, Football (1998-2000)
The road to NDSCS for Abrian Stovall was not as clear cut as most. Stovall originally grew up in Mississippi. For his senior year, he was transplanted in St. Paul, MN where he attended Johnson High School playing Football for the "Governors". His football skills attracted the attention of the U of M, but a persistent head coach from NDSCS who would show up at his home, on numerous occasions in his suburban, convinced him to bring his football skills 220 miles north to Wahpeton, ND and become a Wildcat.
Abrian played for the Wildcat Football team in 1998-99 as an Inside Linebacker. The 1999 Wildcat Football team became the first team to have an undefeated season going 10-0 and winning the Pepsi-Cola Bowl. Abrian graduated in 2000 with a Liberal Arts Degree and continued his education at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He was an All-American there and also All-Conference for the Mavericks. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. He had a tryout with the New York Giants and played in the Arena Football League until 2008.
Abrian and his wife Brenda, a 2001 NDSCS graduate, live in St Paul, MN. Since 2009, he has been driving truck and doing logistics for Medtronic. They have 3 children Jaeden, Abryanah, and Aveon. He still likes to work out, ride bike, spending time with his family, and buying and fixing up old cars.
Matthew Maras, Football (1991-1992)
Matthew Maras came to NDSCS from Luverne High School in Luverne Minnesota. As a Junior, he was named the most improved player of the year. As a Senior, he was All Conference, All Area, and All State Honorable Mention as a middle linebacker.
Matt attended NDSCS in 1991-92 where he was a 2-sport athlete participating in football and track. In the 1992 football season he was Team Captain, All Conference and voted the Most Valuable Lineman. He was part of the football team the won the 1st Bowl victory in NDSCS history. He said his most memorable game was not that 1st bowl game victory, but the week of practice after they lost to Waldorf to start the season 0-2. That week of practice moved them to be the great football team enabling them to attain that 1st Bowl victory. Matt threw the Javelin for the Wildcat track team. Matt graduated in 1992 with his Associate of Arts degree. Matt and his wife Marcy currently live in Hartford SD where he is a home builder. They have three boys Abram, Cyrus and Adriel. Matt's hobbies include hunting and fishing.
Rachel (Talbott) Ross, Track and Field (1999-2000)
Rachel (Talbott) Ross went to high school in Max ND graduating in 1998. She completed her Military Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training before stepping onto the NDSCS campus in January 1999. In high school Rachel was a 2-sport athlete in both basketball and track. She qualified for the state track meet her freshman year while being voted rookie of the year. She placed at the state meet each of her 4 years in high school with a 3rd place finish her senior year.
Rachel was part of the Wildcat Track Team from 1999-2000 as a Javelin Thrower. In her Freshman year, she placed 1st at the NJCAA National Tournament with a throw of 144' 7" making her a NJCAA First Team All-American. At the 2000 NJCAA National Tournament, she placed 3rd. During her two years of collegiate competition at NDSCS, she was beaten only one time. Rachel completed her Associate Degree at NDSCS and then transferred to Minot State University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Education.
Rachel served with the ND Army National Guard from 1997 to 2008 and since 2008 to present, she has been serving with the NC Army National Guard and is currently a Sergeant First Class. She plans to retire from her time in the service in late 2027 with 30 years of service.
She currently lives in Statesville NC with her husband Eric. They have 3 children: Jacob, Abigail, and Madilyn. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys spending time with family, running, hiking, golfing, lifting weights, and traveling.
Jamil Stamschror-Lott, Basketball (2003-2005)
Jamil Stamschror-Lott played his basketball for Como Park where he averaged 15.2 points and 9.7 rebounds a game. He helped lead Como Park to a third-place finish in the Minnesota Class AAA tournament earning a place on the on the All-State tournament team his Senior year. He was named to the St. Paul All-Conference team and was a Minnesota State honorable mention. In 2016, he was inducted into the Como Park High Hall of Fame for his athletic and community contributions.
Jamil was a power forward for the men's Wildcat basketball team. He was an NJCAA All-American averaging 16.7 points and 8.0 rebounds a game for the Wildcats. He led the team in field goal percentage .547 and blocked shots 49. He helped lead the team to a 28-7 record wining the MonDak, District XII and Region XIII Championships while placing 7th in the national tournament for the first time in school history. He was voted most improved player his Freshman year and MVP his Sophomore year by his teammates. He continued his education at Marquette University playing basketball and receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. Jamil and his wife Sara live in Minneapolis where he is a Licensed Mental Health Therapist and they Co-Founded Creative Kuponya. They have one child, Zola. His hobbies include reading and community building.
Phillip Hahn, Basketball (2002-2004)
Phillip Hahn was a Three-year starter for the Oakwood Collegiate basketball program under coaches Terry Thomson and Ernie Macmillan. Graduating in 2002, he averaged 18 points and seven assists per game and shot 87 percent from the free throw line during his prep career. His senior year he served as team captain while averaging 21 points, five assists, three steals per game and also being named the Team's MVP. He was named Athlete of the Year for Oakwood Collegiate and in the city of Toronto his Senior year. Phillip also played baseball for 3 years at Oakwood Collegiate.
Phillip played point guard for the 2003-2004 men's Wildcat basketball team where he was NJCAA All-American and a Top 10 Assist Leader in the NJCAA. Both the 2003 and 2004 teams were MonDak Conference Champions, while both years falling one game short of making it to the National tournament in Hutchinson, KS. His time at NDSCS taught him discipline, perseverance, attitude, and the skills of teamwork. He graduated in 2004 with a Liberal Arts degree.
Phillip and his wife Naatalia reside in San Deigo CA where he is a Regional Manager for a family run/private business Enterprise Holdings. They have two children Nicholas and Teddy. In his spare time, he enjoys basketball, leadership reading, giving back to his community, and spending time with his family.
