NDSCS WBB and MBB Head Into Conference Play
Host Lake Region on Thursday
The NDSCS basketball teams will be playing host to Lake Region this Thursday in Wahpeton. Both the men's and women's programs sit at an identical 12-2 record heading into Thursday.
The women's basketball team has been led by Maggie Westling who's currently averaging 18.2 PPG and 11.9 RPG. Lolo Carlow is averaging 13.4 PPG while Ava Boyes averages 9.7 PPG and 6.5 RPG. The defense has been led by guards Peyton Gette and Ezrah Baker who both draw tough defensive assignments each night. Freshman Emerson Johnson and Marta Iborra have also played key contributors to this year's team off the bench. The Wildcats are averaging 72 PPG to their opponents 57.2 PPG. The Wildcats are looking to win their fifth straight Mon-Dak Conference Championship.
The men's basketball team has been led by Cham Okey who's averaging 20.4 PPG to go along with 8.9 RPG. Jikany Deang has had a big year putting up 17.1 PPG and 9.0 RPG. Breckenridge native Luke Christensen has averaged 13.7 PPG and 6.2 RPG. The backcourt of Nidas Paulauskas and John Angau are both in double figure averages with 12.6 and 11.5 PPG with Paulauskas dishing out 4.5 APG. NDSCS is averaging 96.4 PPG to their opponents' 74.4 PPG. The Wildcats will look to continue their hot start to get back to the top of the Mon-Dak Conference starting on Thursday.
