Michael Douglas Jr. Named NJCAA Division III Football Offensive Player of the Year
WAHPETON, N.D. — North Dakota State College of Science sophomore running back Michael Douglas Jr. has been named the 2025 NJCAA Division III Football Offensive Player of the Year, the NJCAA announced this week.
Douglas Jr. delivered a dominant sophomore campaign for the Wildcats, establishing himself as the premier offensive player in NJCAA Division III football. Appearing in 13 games, he finished the 2025 season leading the nation in total rushing yards (1,208), rushing yards per game (100.7), and rushing touchdowns (13), anchoring one of the most productive offenses in the division. His consistency, vision, and explosiveness made him a weekly focal point for opposing defenses and a cornerstone of the NDSCS attack.
In recognition of his outstanding performance, Douglas Jr. was named NJCAA Division III Offensive Player of the Week following a dominant showing against Minnesota West Community & Technical College, where he carried the ball 28 times for 290 yards, averaging 10.4 yards per carry, and scored four touchdowns. He also earned First-Team All-MCAC Football Team honors and was selected as a First-Team NJCAA Division III All-American for his exceptional sophomore season.
