Alex Fodness is entering his third season as the Sports Information Director and Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at NDSCS. Last season NDSCS finished with an overall record of 26-7 and finished 11-1 atop the Mon-Dak Conference. They would go on to defeat Dawson CC in the Region XIII Championship game.

In the 2016-17 season he helped guide the Wildcats to a school record 31-2, Region XIII Championship, and Mon-Dak Conference Championship.

Prior to his time at NDSCS, Alex spent one season as a Graduate Assistant for the men's basketball program at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, SD. In the 2015-16 season the Tigers recorded a 23-10 record and reached the Sweet 16 of the NAIA DII National Tournament. At Wesleyan his primary duties included opponent scouting, recruiting, film breakdown, academic monitoring, and coaching the junior varsity program.

Alex got his start in coaching as a volunteer assistant for the Varsity Boys team at Castlewood High School in 2014-15.

In the summer of 2017 Alex began coaching with the South Dakota North Stars AAU program in Brookings, SD. He was the coach for the 13U Boys and led boys’ skill development.

Fodness, a Castlewood, SD native, graduated from South Dakota State University in 2014 with a BS in Psychology and earned his MS in Sport and Recreation Studies in 2016.
