The 2016 Region XIII All-Region and Mon-Dak All-Conference teams were announced last week and three Wildcats earned All-Region and All-Conference honors.
Three NDSCS Wildcats were selected to the Region XIII All-Region team. Lottie Augedahl, a sophomore defensive specialist from Caledonia, MN, has been a leader for the Wildcats this season and has also been one of the best defenders in the country. Lottie has racked up 704 digs so far this season which is tops in both the conference and region. Not only has she been atop the conference all season, she has also been a mainstay in the Top 10 nationally for both total digs and digs per set (6.34) reaching as high as number two. Augedahl was also selected to the Mon-Dak All-Conference Team.
Freshman hitter Becca Weir, Villard, MN, played a large role in the Wildcats’ offensive attack at the net this season. She has totaled 274 kills so far at a rate of 2.17 kills per set and a kill percentage of .287. She has also been a solid defender at the net, tallying 75 blocks over the course of the season. Weir was also selected to the Mon-Dak All-Conference Team.
Bailee Gulseth, a sophomore defensive specialist out of Moorhead, MN, rounds out the All-Region squad for the Wildcats. Gulseth paired with Augedahl to lead the Wildcat defense. The tandem was rock solid and contributed greatly to NDSCS’s Top 10 national ranking in digs per set. Individually, Gulseth compiled 451 digs this season and averaged 3.7 digs per set as well as adding 21 service aces.
NDSCS (27-10) will travel to Columbus, NE this weekend to battle for the District G crown and a trip to the National Tournament in Charleston, WV November, 17-19.
